BHS Baseball Field dedicated in memory of Coach Jerry Daniels

Friday was a special day for long time Blountstown Tiger baseball fans. Former players, coaches, family, and friends gathered for the dedication of the BHS Baseball field in loving memory of long time Head Coach Jerry Daniels.

Coach Daniels led the BHS baseball team as head coach from 1974 to 1999 when he turned the program over to Greg Jordan. Jerry was Greg’s assistant coach for two more years. Coach Daniels served as an assistant coach under several head football coaches for 29 seasons. He was coaching under David Pitts when the Tigers won back to back state titles in 1976 and 1977 and under Bobby Johns for the state runnerup finish in 2004. Let’s not forget he coached basketball for nine seasons, golf for two, and track for one.

Long time fellow coach James Dunn spoke highly of Coach Daniels joining Adam Faurot, Greg Jordan, and Steve Williams who also spoke at the dedication.
