Arrest made up on the roof

Friday evening, Liberty County Sheriff Deputy DJ Jacobs responded to a call about a suspicious person at the Telogia power plant.  The power plant is closed and no longer operating. Deputy Jacobs arrived at the power plant and located Jeffery Austin actively cutting copper wire from one of the buildings on the property. Deputy Jacobs approached Austin, who was very surprised to see Deputy Jacobs. At the time, Austin thought it would be a good idea to flee, and ran from Deputy Jacobs.

Several LCSO Deputies then arrived on the scene and began an extensive search for Austin. Deputy Jacobs climbed to the very top of one of the buildings and located Austin hiding near the top of the building. Deputy Jacobs was able to safely apprehend Austin on the top of the roof.

Austin was taken into custody and charged with the following: Burglary of a structure,  Possession of Burglary tools, and resisting arrest without violence.
