Altha places 7th in Traditional and 8th in Olympic at State Championship

At the FHSAA Girls’ State Weightlifting Meet held on Saturday in Lakeland, Braeden Smith, a Senior, won her third straight Traditional State Weightlifting title with a new personal record of 190 on bench press.  She went 9/9 on her lifts, also winning the Olympic title, giving her 4 State Championships.  

Paige Stone had the highest bench press in her weight class, finishing fourth in Traditional.  Paige also broke the school bench press record and tied the total record for her weight class.  

Anna Hand, Paige Tice, and Christy Jones also represented the team well in their respective weight classes, and have future seasons to improve!  

Altha finished 8th as a team in the Olympic meet and 7th as a team in the Traditional meet. 

Weightlifting coach is Robbie Smith.
