JUDY GAIL (WHITE) DUNCAN

 Mrs. Judy Gail (White) Duncan, age 65, of Clarksville, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 21, 2022, in Panama City, Florida. Judy was born on January 7, 1957, in Tampa, FL to Broze Molton White and Judith Alegra (Sparrowhawk) White. She worked as a stenographer for 20 years. Judy enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, shopping, decorating her home one room at a time, and was a wonderful cook. She truly loved her family, but mostly enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. Judy had lived in Calhoun County most of her life and was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Blountstown, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, Broze and Judith (Sparrowhawk) White, and her brother Broze Daniel White. She is survived by: beloved husband Gary Duncan of Clarksville, Florida, sons, Chris Duncan and Wandee of Blountstown, Florida, Justin Duncan and Tiffany of Cottondale, Florida; daughter Samantha Johnson and Steve of Blountstown, Florida; brother, James Michael White of Cypress, Florida; sister Pamela Ann Congdon and Lee of Sopchoppy, Florida; adored grandchildren, Shelby, Keegan, Carson, Tate, and Gavin; treasured great grandchildren, Gracie, Aubree, and Greyson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 3:00 PM (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ryan McDougald officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarksville, Florida. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 2:00 PM (CDT) until service time at 3:00 PM (CDT).

Maxine Hobby of Clarksville passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Blountstown. Maxine was born September 19, 1946, in Clarksville to the late J. Frank and Lois Stephens and worked as a cosmetologist for many years until her retirement. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses many years ago and attended the Blountstown Kingdom Hall. Maxine was preceded in death by her brothers, J. Frank Stephens, Jr., Billy Stephens and Dewey Stephens. 

She is survived by her children, Collis Hobby, Jr. and wife Lisa of Clarksville, Terri Glass and husband Tim of Abe Springs, Stephen Hobby of Clarksville, Chris Hobby of Panama City; her sisters Jackie Ritter and husband RG of Clarksville and Melissa Stephens of Scotts Ferry; her grandchildren Casey Dunham, Austin Glass, Chase Hobby, Connor Hobby, Brandon Pitts, Kayla Godwin; her great grandchildren Whitley Dunham, Grady Dunham, Linton Godwin, Hendrix Godwin, Jeremiah Mayo, Ava Pitts and Easton Pitts and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family including Amber and Autumn whom were special to her. 

A memorial was held  at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Blountstown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  For those who are unable to attend in person you may watch over zoom using the following login: Meeting ID: 84254439403 Passcode: 938264

LAURA JILL SUMNER

Mrs. Laura Jill Sumner, age 48, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 in Panama City, Florida. Laura was born on September 21,1973 in Panama City, Florida to Clifford Tharpe, Jr. and Joan Ellen (Lee) Tharpe. She grew up in Grand Ridge, lived in Altha, Florida for several years, and then resided in Panama City, Florida. Laura worked as an Educator with the Department of Corrections for the State of Florida. She received a master’s degree in Criminology and a bachelor’s degree in Education. Laura loved crafts, riding horses, and truly loved her family. Laura is preceded in death by her parents Clifford Jr. and Joan (Lee) Tharpe and a brother, Clifford Tharpe, III. 

Laura is survived by  beloved husband Robert Sumner of Florida; sons, Caleb Bailey of Clarksville, Florida, Zayed Afifi of Clarksville, Florida; daughters, Michaela Gill and Brian of Tampa, Florida, Hunter Bailey of Clarksville, Florida, Isabella Bailey of Clarksville, Florida, Hamylee Bailey of Clarksville, Florida; brother, Jeffery (Wade) Tharpe and Lisa of Grand Ridge, Florida; maternal grandmother, Jeanette Lee of Port St. Joe, Florida; four grandchildren, Ryland, Julian, Brian III, and Mylah. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown, Florida with Sonny Coburn officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 6:00 PM (CDT) until 8:00 PM (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown, Florida.

ANDREW BARMORE

Andrew Barmore passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, in Blountstown. Andrew was born March 31, 1934, to the late Andrew and Fannie Barmore and was a construction contractor for many years until retirement. 

Survivors include his daughter, Meria Camille Barmore; his son, Andrew Joseph Barmore; his grandchildren, Zayne Wesley Fowler, Zakkari William Fowler and Eva Rayne Clark; his brothers and sisters, Jimmie Lee Barmore, William Edgeworth Barmore, Lois Jean Barmore and Judith Carol Barmore.

No services are planned at this time. Memorializaiton will be by cremation.

MONA LISA SMITH

Mrs. Mona Lisa Smith, age 60, of Grand Ridge, Florida passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 in Tallahassee, Florida. Mona was born on May 8, 1962 in Holland, Kentucky to Bob Yount and Mary Fletcher Yount. She had lived in Calhoun, Seminole, Jackson Counties for the past 12 years. Mona enjoyed fishing, working, and watching television. She never met a stranger and loved and adored her family. Mona worked for many years as a convenience store clerk. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Mary (Fletcher) Yount. She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Smith, of Grand Ridge, Florida; sons, Bud Smith of Grand Ridge, Florida, Ernest Daniel Smith and Ashley of Clarksville, Florida, Jacob Smith and Britney of Grand Ridge, Florida; stepson, Raymond Smith and Mary of Blountstown, Florida; daughter, Leslie Shelton of Blountstown, Florida; brothers, Ricky Sapp of Sanford, Florida, Michael Sapp of Sanford, Florida; sisters, Tammy Beebe and Gary of Geneva, Florida, Terry Pillinghast and James of Deland, Florida; and 14 Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, Florida. Interment will follow at Pine Memorial Cemetery in Blountstown, Florida. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 10:00 AM (CDT) until service time at 11:00 AM (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.
