On Sunday, December 8, Deputy Hansford and Deputy Durden with the Blountstown Sheriff’s Office, responded to a dispatch call at a residence in Altha. When they arrived, Deputy Hansford made contact with Jackie Reagan who stated that there was a verbal argument with his neighbor over his dogs and his neighbor’s dogs fighting.

Deputy Hansford spoke with the complainant and three witnesses who all stated that there was a verbal dispute over Reagan’s dogs coming to the complainant’s residence and fighting her dogs. During the altercation, Reagan allegedly pushed the complainant four times. After getting their account, Deputy Hansford went to talk with Reagan again who then told him there was a video, but Deputy Hansford was not able to tell by the video if Reagan pushed the complainant, but while pulling up the video Reagan admitted to pushing her.

Deputy Hansford then recommended to place trespass warnings on all people involved. They all agreed and while Deputy Hansford was serving the warnings the complainant showed him a video of the altercation that shows Reagan stating if they (dogs) go on his property again he “would put them in the ground”.

On December 13, Deputy Hansford called in the complainant to go over the incident. When asked to give the details of the event in chronological order, she stated that the dogs started fighting around 2:30 p.m. and she broke them up. Reagan then called the dogs back to his house and started yelling that he was going to put a fence up. Reagan then got on his tractor and started putting up a fence, and when he got off the tractor the complainant approached him to ask what he was doing and that is when the altercation began.

Reagan began cussing, screaming, and threatening to shoot them. Reagan then pushed the complainant four times. One of the witnesses got between them and was able to separate them. Reagan put his hand on his gun and told the witnesses that if they came back on his property again he would “drop you”. The video picks up here and the Sheriff’s Office was notified. Reagan then backed up to the road and began taunting the witnesses until the officers arrived on the scene.

Given the above stated facts Deputy Hansford finds probable cause to charge Jackie Reagan with aggravated assault and battery.
