Open house for parents of sixth graders September 4

Adolescence can be such an awkward time for children. They seem too old too be young and too young to old.

Much of the time the children feel that they do not fit in anywhere. These feelings are all too real for sixth graders who are transitioning from elementary to middle school.

This time of change can also be difficult for parents who are struggling through sixth grade right along with their children. Blountstown Middle School recognizes that many parents would like help navigating the treacherous waters of adolescence and will host an Open House for PARENTS ONLY on Tuesday, September 4, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The Open House is a chance for parents to meet with teachers, check on grades, learn about their children’s routines and requirements during sixth grade, and to become aware of changes their children will experience during the next three years. Sensitive information may be discussed, so parents are asked to make supervision arrangements that allow the parents to attend the meeting without their children.
