The Blountstown FFA chapter traveled to Orlando June 25 through June 29 to attend the 84th Annual Florida FFA State Convention. Several of our members competed in various CDE’s and we are proud of all of them.

Heather Yoder competed in the Creed competition and placed 4th in the state. Our Agribusiness Management team consisting of Mitchell Darnell, Harrison Coley, Saad Farooqi, and Trent Smith placed 2nd in the state. Blountstown's Agricultural Communications team consisting of Cassidy Odom, Faith Plazarin, and April Rich was recognized for placing 2nd in the state and Faith Plazarin being recognized as High Placing Individual in this contest. J.P. Leonard placed first in his category of the Agriscience Fair, Mitchell Darnell and Brandon Purvis received third in their category, and Trent Smith and Caitlyn Stweart also placed first in their category.

We also had two seniors receive the State Degree, Trent Smith and Caitlyn Stewart, and Karis Smith was recognized for receiving the American Degree.

Our chapter had two members enter in proficiencies and were recognized as finalists in their categories, Caitlyn Stewart in Agriculture Education and Karis Smith in Agricultural Services.

All in all, our trip was a success. Congratulations to all of our members!
